Who Is Tim Redovian
Tim was different from most kids his age. When he was only nine years old he knew what he wanted to be when he grew up . . . he wanted to be a GREAT ACTOR and star on Broadway.
Tim knew his dreams were big and that if he wanted them to come true he had a lot to learn. For seven years, he continually took classes at Stage Door Players, The Alliance Theatre, Actor’s Express, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, and with Atlanta Workshop Players. Tim attended workshops, seminars and drama camps and continuously took private lessons in voice, piano, diction and acting for film. Within a year agents began representing him. He did on-camera work in commercials and industrial films, as well as voice over work for TV and radio. He traveled to CO, NC, and AL to make three children’s videos. He became a reporter for CNN’s Real News for Kids, did voiceovers for TBS’s Super Teacher of the Month and did a guest appearance on TBS’s Feed Your Mind. Tim earned enough money to pay part of his expenses and to save $10,000.00 for college! He performed on stages throughout Atlanta doing drama, comedy, musicals and Shakespeare.
Tim was happiest when he was performing, rehearsing, auditioning, and learning! His dedication, hard work and professionalism belied his young age and he earned the respect of everyone he worked with. His smiling face and loving nature endeared him to most everyone he met along the way. Acting was Tim’s way of life, but his friends were the love of his life. He was a consummate friend, very kind and very loving. He had a way of making everyone feel as if he or she was his “best friend”.
At DCPA Tim pursued an advanced course of study and received training in drama, voice, dance, and technical theatre. He was a member of Highleit, DCPA’s touring show choir. He was Drama Rep for SPA (Students of Performing Arts) and he was a member of Beta Club and National Honor Society. He participated in Model UN at Georgia State. He attended the Governor’s Honor Program at Valdosta State as a theatre major. He danced in the National High School Dance Festival in Miami, FL. He appeared on stage in several productions at DCPA. Tim was looking forward to college and a career in theatre and film or TV, maybe all three!
Tim’s unbridled love for his art and his friends are what made him so uniquely Tim! In order to help Tim’s extraordinary spirit live on we have established THE TIM REDOVIAN MEMORIAL FUND, INC. Its mission: to perpetuate Tim’s memory by providing funding and scholarship awards to talented students, individually or through organizations, who desire to develop to their full potential through continued studies, with emphasis in the area of the performing arts.
Those of us who knew Tim realize it is impossible to put his remarkable life on paper. We hope you have learned enough about Tim to want to help us preserve his extraordinary spirit.
